Marti Warren
Marti has called Amherst Village home since 1983 and jumped into town life right away, even while juggling four kids at four different schools. She’s volunteered in many roles, from producing the PTA Playbill to helping with the Amherst Garden Club’s Plant Sale, Old Home Day, and other local causes. Named Amherst Citizen of the Year in 2014, she’s also loved helping raise her 13 grandchildren. When The Amherst Citizen closed after COVID, Marti stepped up to help create The Amherst Bear, and she’s excited for its 2026 launch.
Lucienne Foulks
Over the years, Lucienne has proudly served Amherst in many capacities, including on the School Board, School Ways and Means Committee, and Library Trustees, as well as through community events with Amherst Juniors and Newcomers. She also spent several years working at the Amherst Library, further deepening her connection to the community. Lucienne is honored to be part of the newspaper and to help celebrate the people, stories, and traditions that make Amherst such a special place.
Maureen Minner
Maureen Minner grew up in Maine before moving to Charleston, South Carolina, in 1992, where she and her husband raised their two sons. After both boys graduated from Clemson, they headed north and fell in love with Amherst during the 2016 Fourth of July parade, quickly deciding it was the place they wanted to call home.
Maureen has served as Treasurer for both the State of South Carolina Garden Club and The Amherst Garden Club. An avid gardener and quilter, she also loves spending time with her three granddaughters.
Greg Bettencourt
Having recently sold his furniture and cabinetry manufacturing business, Greg is excited to have more time to focus on his family and dig his Amherst roots deeper. These days he can most commonly be found chasing his three kids around the yard, working on a project, or standing on the sidelines of an Amherst sports event — either coaching or rooting alongside the rest of the Amherst faithful.
Greg is excited to have the opportunity to help make The Amherst Bear an enduring icon of the town for the future and is looking forward to bringing his small business and problem-solving skills to the effort.
Stacey Morison
Stacey Morison has happily called Amherst home since 2018. A former teacher and office manager, she now applies her organizational and leadership skills to volunteer roles, fundraising, and community events. She serves on the boards of the Amherst Junior Women’s Club and Friends of the Amherst Library, is active in the PTA, and works in nonprofit fundraising. Named the 2023 Amherst Citizen of the Year, Stacey is known for her creativity and sharp proofreading eye. She’s excited to help bring The Amherst Bear to life.
